I imagine many of us have heard the saying, “A rolling stone gathers no moss.”

The same goes for photographers in terms of our skills and creativity.

Because if we’re not moving in terms of our skills and creativity, we get stuck.
 

And not stuck like we don’t know what we’re doing, we get stuck in a creative and skills rut.

When it comes to learning photography, and the learning never stops, our movement when it comes to making pictures and exploring new ideas keeps our work engaging and feeling new.

The best kind of learning comes from doing what photographers do: making pictures.

If we’re stuck because we don’t understand photography, meaning camera operation, composition in light, that’s an easy fix.
 

We could learn to do what we need to do.

Whenever we pick up a camera and take pictures, we shake off any moss we might have accumulated during our misunderstanding of photography and frustration.

Our hesitation and overthinking are the kinds of not moving, where we pick up the moss, because we find ourselves stuck in a rut that we can’t move out of.
 

We move out of it by learning through doing.

We gotta try, we might fail sometimes, but there are lessons in the failing, and the lessons keep us moving toward being better photographers.

It’s the next best thing to taking an in-person class with me; you could even ask me questions, and members get exclusive access to all the other member-only educational content created to help you be the best photographer you can be.

A note about group class sizes: Did you know that some places that teach photography have up to 25 students in each class? 

Bigger ain't always better.

That's why I limit my group classes to no more than five participants because smaller classes make for better, more effective, and more efficient learning experiences.

But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker, so sign up soon.
