————————
There’s a lot of photographers out there who haven’t been doing their photography.
They’ve got a camera, but they haven’t been using it.
They’re photographers at heart but not in practice
As a photography teacher, I’m reminded of that, especially during this time of year.
Sometimes I’ll get a call from a photographer who wants to brush up on their skills to get ready for the holidays.
And sometimes I’ll get a call from someone who knows a photographer who hasn’t been using their camera and they want to give a little nudge to get the photographer who isn't using their camera back into photography by purchasing them some photography instruction.
Most of us could use a little nudge once in a while, and when we get one, we’re usually thankful we did.
I know I was.
Want to finally use your camera to make the pictures that you want—or help someone else do the same?
What usually stops us isn’t a lack of equipment or interest.
It’s not knowing where to start, or feeling overwhelmed by all the buttons, dials, and menus, or life pulls us in a different direction, and we let
our photography studies and practice fall by the wayside.
When I first started photography, I found it so frustrating that I gave it up entirely.
My interest was reignited about a decade later when someone gave me a camera they were no longer using.
That was the nudge that I needed.
But this time, I found a good teacher and started studying and practicing.
That’s what helps—regular, intentional practice, and a bit of guidance from a good teacher.
My Photography Basics/Introduction to Photography class and Private Photography Lessons are both excellent ways to get you or someone you know to dust off that camera and get reengaged in making photographs.
Whether it’s for you or a gift, these ways to learn photography with me are designed for anyone who wants to finally put their camera to use and start making thoughtful, skillful pictures.
Give the gift of photography instruction with my Instant Gift Certificates.
Or purchase a series (number of hours) of Private Photography Lessons and have the photographer call me to schedule their meetings.
I’m here to help you or someone you know be a better photographer.
There’s ways to learn photography with me listed below.
