Working our camera in automatic exposure mode is easy.
It's easy to not meter light intensity.
Not paying attention to focusing modes and areas is easy.
It's easy not to control tonality using aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
Even though we're unhappy with our work, doing what we've been doing is easy.
Remember, easy ain't the point. The point is to challenge ourselves and grow.
Getting better is the point.
Changing what we do ain't easy, but it's worth our effort because
It's this effort that makes us better photographers.
And the best change we can make is to learn to use our camera in manual exposure mode.
When we learn to use our camera in manual exposure mode, we become the most involved in our photography.
When we get the most involved in our photography, we create intentional
compositions that no one else can create.
Furthermore, if we learn to make pictures based on how we think about what we see instead of what we see, then the work we create in manual exposure mode is automatically unique.

But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker, so sign up soon.
And what if the timing doesn't work for you in any of my scheduled group classes? Private in-person lessons suited to your schedule are always an option.
And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making
at least one picture daily.
