Sometimes, we make promises we can't keep.
We don't intentionally enter into a promise, intending to break it.
Still, sometimes, we realize we may have bitten off more than we can chew.
If you've promised yourself that you'll finally learn to work your camera so you know what you're doing when
making pictures, I encourage you to keep that promise and assure you that it ain't biting more than you can chew.
I worked with someone recently during the first meeting of the Introduction To Photography class.
While working in manual exposure mode, we covered aperture, shutter speed, and ISO as
tonality controls, as well as effective and efficient metering and focusing.
Before the class, they stated, as if warning me, that they knew nothing about photography.
However, after the class, they mentioned they better understood how to work their camera intentionally and confidently to control compositions.
Learning to control the aforementioned camera functionality is crucial for intentional photographic composition and is just the beginning.
When we promise to become better photographers, it doesn't seem easy at first; we struggle with the terms, camera controls, etc.
However, after studying and practicing, we start to get the hang of it. Before we know it, it becomes
second nature.
Learning to become a better photographer is a promise that's keepable.
If you decide to make that promise to yourself, I promise to provide you with guidance.
But don't doubt for a second
that although the promise I made to you is essential, what's more important is that you put in the effort with your studies and practice to keep your promise to yourself.

Currently scheduled classes are below.
Smaller classes mean better learning, so class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.
But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker, so sign up soon.
And what if the timing doesn't work for you in any of my scheduled group classes? Private in-person lessons suited to your schedule are always an option.
And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
