Even without trying, we naturally create.
However, expressing our creativity through arts or crafts is a different story.
Arts and crafts aren't a natural process, and it's something we've got to want to do and then learn to do it.
The wanting part is easy; the learning part takes some
worthwhile effort.
Recently, as I walked by an establishment that offered pottery classes, I stopped in to view the work produced during the classes.
A potter expresses their creativity through clay and fire, and after their desire to do it, they've to learn how to do it.
It's admirable and interesting work, but It's a creative process I have no interest in other than appreciating the work of the craftspeople who produce it.
On the other hand, I wanted to be a photographer, so I made some worthwhile effort and learned to do that; becoming a professional is icing on the cake, but that isn't why I wanted to do it.
My wanting to be a photographer was
important, but wanting something and taking action to become it are different things.
They're different things that must coexist for us to express our creativity in our chosen craft.
However, creative expression through arts and crafts is difficult because it's not natural for us to express our creativity that way.
We can easily overcome that difficulty by learning to use the tools and techniques specific to that craft.
When it
comes to photography, the primary tool is a camera, and the techniques involve camera operation, composition, and light.
That means learning about aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, as well as metering and focusing.
And when we learn to work our camera in manual exposure mode, we get the most creative techniques available.
And that's exactly what you'll learn to do in the Photography Basics (Introduction To Photography) class.
