Remember, our photography is important

But the importance is not why it's our photography.

There's a lotta things that have importance.

There are problems that need solving, we need to make connections with people, and we've gotta make a living, not to mention the importance of things on a national and global scale.

But the photography studies and practice we're doing now, instead of everything else we could be doing–it's important to us.

When we consider whether this is the work we should be doing now, we're not negating its importance or questioning whether we should do it or not.

Instead, we're considering whether we're the ones to do it and if it serves our specific needs, skills, and assets.

We've gotta set our priorities regardless of each option's importance.

We prioritize making pictures because they're valuable to us.

Considering our priorities when it comes to our photography studies and practice helps us understand our "why" of making pictures and serves as a potent reminder to keep doing what we're doing.

And what if the timing doesn't work for you in any of my scheduled group classes? Private in-person lessons suited to your schedule are always an option.

And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
