And for what it's worth, when you send me an email unless someone's lookin' over my shoulder, I'm the only one who sees it.

If we're a photographer with some experience, then a quick refresher of the basics will probably do, and then we get hands-on/practical instruction on advanced techniques like equivalent tonalities and metering and tonal placement.    

If we're a photographer with little experience and don't know what aperture, shutter speed, and ISO do compositionally, then slower-paced instructions are in order until we form a strong foundation of the basics for building on.

It's a mistake to assume that just because we think we know what we're doing, we do.

Here's some stuff to think about when considering getting instruction:

• What kind of instruction do we need?
• What's the value of the instruction when it comes to becoming a better photographer?
• We probably don't need to worry about the instructions that come with a lens, but learning about camera operation, composition, and light is the best way to improve our photography skills.
• If we're new to photography and we're going to take a group class, it'd be best if class sizes were small and everyone was at the same skill level.
• Before step 1, start with a big-picture overview of where we wanna go as photographers.  
• Be patient with ourselves and learn at our own pace; remember learning photography ain't a race.

This can be more of a challenge than it seems.

Don't worry about it.

We just gotta do what needs to be done to be the photographers we wanna be.

And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
