Hello, .
We tend not to feel inspired to photograph the seemingly ordinary things we see daily.
We tend to overlook the ordinary in search of something extraordinary.
If we take a moment to look closer at the ordinary, we’ll see its extraordinariness.
It helps when we look at the ordinary more closely and with the eyes and mind of a photographer.
When we notice
the texture, shape, colors, and context in which whatever we see exists, we'll see the ordinary as extraordinary.
When we see something extraordinary in the ordinary, it's a good idea to photograph how we see it and think about
it.
The best part is that we can use whatever camera we have.
It doesn't matter whether we use the camera on our phone or a camera that allows for more camera operation and composition choices.
We can
do this with anything, anytime, anywhere.
Incorporating this activity thoughtfully into our photography studies and practicing raises our visual awareness and vocabulary, increases our photography and camera operation skills, and
allows us to find visual inspiration in whatever we see.
Of course, the more we understand our craft, the better our pictures will be.
The Introduction to Photography class starts soon; taking it as a group class or a series of Private Lessons will help you photograph the ordinary extraordinarily.
