Hello, .
Do you have any habits?
If you're like me, you've experienced the significant influence of habits on your daily life.
Some habits work with us.
And when I say work with us, you can take that as they benefit us.
And some habits work against us.
And when I say work against us, you can take that as meaning they cause difficulty or harm us.
Sometimes, the difficulty or harm is minor, and sometimes, the difficulty or harm is immense.
For me, a habit is a consistent pattern of behavior or routine that shapes and influences our lives.
My life is
full of habits.
And although I can't imagine getting rid of habits, I can replace the ones that work against me with those that work with me.
One of the habits that work with me is to put things in my home in specific
places.
I didn't do that this morning, and it caused a slight disruption in the flow of the day.
No big deal.
Just a minor annoyance.
But an annoyance and speed bump in the smooth flow that could have been avoided if I didn't deviate from my habit.
The break from the routine caused me to search for the thing I didn't put in its usual place.
My photography studies and practice are a habit.
And
there are habits within that habit.
One of those habits is keeping my metering pattern and focusing bracket in the same place.
And that place is in the center of my viewfinder.
I've developed this behavior
because when I need to use my meter and focus bracket, they're there when I need to meter and focus.
I keep my meter and focus bracket in the same place because I put things in the same place in my home.
The reason is that
when I need to use them, I know where they are.
When you take the Introduction To Photography class or private lessons with me, I'll help you develop habits that will
benefit your photography studies and practice and help you become a better photographer.

Currently scheduled classes are below.
Smaller classes mean better learning, so class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.
But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker, so sign up soon.
And what if the timing doesn't work for you in any of my scheduled group
classes? Private in-person or online lessons suited to your schedule are always an option.
And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
That's all for now; thanks for reading!
