Hello, .
This past Wednesday was the last meeting of four one-hour Private Lessons.
The private lessons, which went longer than scheduled, aimed to cover the
material presented during the Introduction To Photography class, and that's how we started.
However, by the last meeting, we were discussing stuff usually discussed during an Intermediate level of instruction.
The photographer started our first meeting by learning to work in manual exposure mode.
Still, we needed to start working on their use of flash somewhere along the line because of the
lighting conditions in which they often made photographs.
So, we tailored the private lessons to suit the photographer's needs so they could do the work they wanted to do.
By the last meeting, she was no longer afraid to use her camera and could use it confidently to get the pictures she wanted.
The advantage of private lessons is the ability to tailor the content to the photographer's specific needs and learning pace because this personalized and flexible learning level isn't available in a group class.
Even though I cover the basic use of a flash during the last meeting of the Introduction To Photography class by using the pop-up flashes on the participant's cameras, further use of flash requires the skills, techniques, and understanding acquired during the
Introduction class.
So, during the private lessons, we covered the essentials before studying
and practicing with the pop-up flash on their camera.
Flash is an intermediate level of
study and practice because to use it effectively, we need to understand how to work our cameras in manual exposure mode.
The most important thing about flash is that we need to understand light intensity as described by an
aperture.
For example, if I gave you a choice of apertures, what aperture represents a brighter light intensity?
Wherever you are in your studies and practice, I can help you be a better photographer.

you need help determining the best course of study and practice.
I'll help you be a better photographer—study and practice photography with me.
Currently scheduled classes are below.
Smaller classes mean better learning, so class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.
But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker, so sign up soon.
And what if the timing doesn't work for you in any of my scheduled group classes? Private in-person or online lessons suited to your schedule are always an
option.
And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
That's all for now; thanks for reading!
