Hello ,
There are a lot of photographers and online websites that'll be happy to tell you what equipment you need.
This brand, that brand, this makes this model,
etc.
How the equipment they're hawking will make you a better photographer.
The problem is they probably don't know you or the type of work you do.
You know who knows that?
You.
Although our gear may help us do the work we want, our equipment doesn't make us a better photographer.
Our studies and practice, leading to an understanding of photography, make us better
photographers.
Depending on the work we do, we may decide to get a piece of equipment because compared to another piece of equipment, our current gear limits us, and we know how the new piece of gear will help us improve
our
For example, in one of my current Intro classes, a photographer in the class does bird photography.
He realized how buying a new piece of equipment would help him be more effective in his work.
That's the way to buy equipment.
Photography equipment isn't inexpensive.
We don't understand our photography if we listen to everyone who tries to tell us what we need and unthinkingly buy without knowing why.
And if we don't understand photography, more or different equipment won't help us.
What will help us is an understanding of camera operation, light, and composition.
The next series of the Introduction to Photography class starts in February.
And there are other scheduled group classes below.
Smaller classes mean better learning, so no more than five participants and me are in each class.
But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker.
And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
That's all for now; thanks for reading!
