"Troublshhoting".

Yup, that's the word. 

That was the first word in the title of the email I sent you on Friday, April 29, "Troublshhoting Our Way To Better Pictures".

Of course, the title should have been "Troubleshooting Our Way To Better Pictures." But you probably figured that out when you critiqued the title and realized I spelled "Troubleshooting" incorrectly.  

Believe it or not, I'll critique an email before I'll send it to you. 

When it came to that email, my self-critique was rushed and sloppy, resulting in an email that should have been more polished. My apologies.

But since there's always something we can learn from our mistakes, let's see what we can do with mine.

So here it is. 

It was easy for you to see my mistake because there's only one correct spelling of "Troubleshooting." In other words, a word is either spelled right or wrong. 

But when it comes to photography, photography ain't words, so there's no right or wrong way to make a picture except in the mind of the photographer making the picture. 

However, as photographers who critique the pictures we make, we might discover a lot of mistakes during our self-critiques.  

And if we think we're making a lot of mistakes when making pictures, then we've gotta get better at observing light and operating our cameras intentionally to get the compositions we want.

The Introduction To Photography class will get you more involved in photography by learning how to work your camera in manual exposure mode. You'll get a good foundation in the basics of photography while learning reliable creative techniques. Classes are scheduled to start April 14. 

Smaller classes mean better learning, so class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.

But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker. 

Private in-person or online lessons suited to your schedule are always an option. 

And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
