I'm sending you these emails to keep you thinking about your photography studies and offer you guidance in practicing making pictures.  

I imagine you signed up for my emails because I said it'd help you be a better photographer; these emails intend to fulfill my end of the deal. 
 
Here's how to make good on your end of the deal. 

It's simple, use your camera regularly.

And forget perfection and rules of composition.

Perfection doesn't exist, and rules suck the vitality out of our work like a vampire that thrives on draining our creativity.

Tricks, tips, and hacks don't work either.

What works? 

PRACTICE!

That's why I advise you and the photographers I work with in my classes to make at least one picture daily by applying what we did during our lesson(s) or thinking about how to use what I discuss in my emails. 

A daily picture habit helps us become better photographers by consistently keeping our studies and practice fresh.

It doesn't need to take long.

And the process is simple and purposeful.

When you see something that grabs your attention, please take out your camera, consider your composition, make the best picture possible, and then critique it.

The point is to make pictures because that's what photographers do. 

When we do what we do, we discover our strengths, weaknesses, and likes and dislikes. 

While discovering our strengths, weaknesses, and likes and dislikes, we define ourselves as photographers and see our path to improving our work. 

The Introduction To Photography class will get you more involved in photography by learning how to work your camera in manual exposure mode. You'll get a good foundation in the basics of photography while learning reliable creative techniques. Classes are scheduled to start today and April 14. 

Smaller classes mean better learning, so class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.

But smaller classes also mean spots fill up quicker. 

Private in-person or online lessons suited to your schedule are always an option. 

And remember, we learn and improve by doing, so practice making at least one picture daily.
