Hello, .
Sometimes, we need a specific type of equipment.
For example, one of the photographers I worked with yesterday enjoys photographing birds.
Yesterday was our second meeting.
According to him, the camera and lens he's working with are known for their use in the bird photography community.
His answers to my questionnaire informed me that he struggles with
autofocus, especially under certain conditions.
He also experiences unexpected blur with birds in motion and other issues with low light and backlit conditions.
And he finds it hard to have two different objects (generally two ducks a few feet apart) in focus.
The adjusted camera settings and technique from the first meeting were helpful, and any residual issues are related to equipment limitations, especially the lens and some stuff the photographer needs to better understand.
However, some issues can't be resolved.
For example, keeping focus (precise sharpness) on two objects a few feet apart is impossible.
Still, we can use our aperture to extend the distance of apparent sharpness.
However, the trade-off for that is a slower shutter speed and/or higher ISO, resulting in more blur from motion and increased noise.
Photography is about balancing what we want with the best we can
do using whatever equipment we have.
And if our equipment limits us, we've gotta consider replacing the limiting equipment.
We might have the necessary equipment, but we must also understand light, camera operation, and composition because our lack of understanding limits us.
I'll help you understand.
Introduction To Photography classes are scheduled to start on March 25, March 27 and April 14. Class sizes are limited to 5 participants plus me.
Private in-person or online lessons suited to your schedule are always an option.
While all my classes will involve you more in how we make pictures, the Introduction To Photography class is the most comprehensive when it comes to getting a good foundation in the basics of photography. If you want to learn to work
your camera in a way that'll provide the most creative technique available, the Introduction To Photography group class is the thing to do..
