Hello
,
A student got me thinking during a class.
They wanted to learn to use their DSLR, but he mostly uses the camera on his phone, just like all of us.
He's happy with the pictures he makes on the phone but understands that the size of the sensor limits the image use.
That's the advantage of a DSLR, bigger file size and better image quality.
Note that this has nothing to do with the compositional qualities of the picture.
And the
haters who say that we're not "real photographers" if we don't use a DSLR or work in manual exposure mode are more full of themselves than talent.
In the hands
of a skilled photographer, a camera on the phone can be used as effectively as a DSLR to create photographs that express ourselves.
In other words, most of the
time, the camera doesn't matter. It's the photographer that uses the camera that makes the difference.
I've got some classes scheduled.
Use whatever camera you want.
