Hello ,
The point of these emails is to keep you thinking about your photography studies and give you gentle nudges and helpful guidance to practice your photography.
And since I imagine you signed up to this email list because I said that signing up to this list would help you be a better photographer, these emails are intended to make good on my end of the deal.
So, since these emails aim to help you be a better photographer, it makes sense to send them more regularly.
I'll do that.
Here's a tip to get the most out of your studies and practice.
Toss the concept of perfection out the window along with any rules of
composition.
Perfection doesn't exist, and rules of composition will suck the vitality out of our work like a vampire that thrives on draining our
creativity.
The one thing that does work?
PRACTICE
And that's why I advise the photographers I work with in my classes to make at least one picture daily by applying what was covered during our lesson(s).
This suggestion helps us become better photographers by consistently keeping our studies and practice relevant to us.
It doesn't need to take long.
And the process is
simple and purposeful.
When you see something that gets your attention, take out whatever camera you have with you, be thoughtful about creating your composition,
make the best picture you can, and then critique it.
The point is to make pictures because that's what photographers do.
And when we do what we do, we discover our strengths and weaknesses as well as our likes and dislikes.
While discovering our strengths and weakness and likes and dislikes, we define ourselves as photographers and see our path to improving our work.
And if you need more help to improve your photography, I've got some classes scheduled.
