Greetings and a Catch-up
Hello ,
Well, after not hearing from me for quite some time I don't have much to say except that I hope that you're doing well. But since this supposed to be greetings and a catch-up, I'll to my best to catch-up.
In short, this pandemic shit has rattled me.
And in terms of my personal behavior I was scared into behaving like a hermit when this virus began showing up in the DMV. However, currently I'm still cautious, fully vaxed and chompin' at the bit to get the booster.
And when it comes to my work as a photography instructor, the way I usually taught photography, In a small conference room with up to nine people in the room, immediately ceased. In fact I had two classes in progress at the time COVID19 was was detected in the DMV and, as a result, we all agreed to finish the class online. If you're interested you can read about how that
went here.
Have I been making photographs? Of course, I'm a photographer. And I hope that, because you're a photographer you've been making pictures too.
Am I teaching? Yes.
However, HOW I'm teaching has changed due to COVID19 concerns.
And in terms of In-person classes, private classes at an outdoor location with one or two people is the currently the norm. Please be fully vaxed.
Which leads me to the BIG change.
I miss the social dynamic of group classes.
So I've taken my time (a LOTTA time) to restructure my group classes so they can be taught effectively online. It's taken me a while but I wanted to offer an online group experience of learning photography that was as effective and enjoyable as an in-person group experience of learning photography.
In hindsight, the students that I've worked with online like the convenience and the effectiveness of the lessons. Not to mention the drop in pricing.
Additionally I created an online learning platform for photographers. It's subscription based and I based the price after asking students during in person lessons what they felt would be a reasonable price based on the value received.
I hope that we can work together soon.
Best Regards,
Sam
P.S.
I guess I had more to say than I initially imagined.
A Quick Tip
